Activia launches Live Culture Smoothies to support gut health

Activia’s new range of Live Culture Smoothies is the latest product to showcase the brand’s passion to support the health of our guts in the UK.

Each delicious bottle is a source of calcium. It also contains billions of live cultures, providing a source of protein and fibre, with no added sugar and the added benefit of one of your five a day – a first time ever for Activia in the UK.

Activia Live Culture Smoothies will launch in two tasty flavours:

  • ORANGE FRUIT & VEG: A blend of Activia yogurt with mango, peach, carrot, date and linseed
  • RED FRUIT & VEG: A blend of Activia yogurt with strawberry, blueberry, beetroot, pomegranate, persimmon and chia seeds

Commenting on the launch, Ben Kind, Activia brand manager, said: ‘With 30 years of experience, and our passion for happy guts, we’re really excited to launch our new Live Culture Smoothies which contain all the goodness of our Activia yogurt, along with a delicious portion of fruit & veg. We are continually adapting our range of fermented products to ensure that we are meeting evolving consumer demands. We know that younger consumers in particular want both nutrition and convenience – rather than having to choose between one or the other. Our Live Culture Smoothies will launch in a convenient bottle format; ensuring that this delicious and nutritious* product can be enjoyed on-the-go.”

The product launch will be supported by a nationwide media campaign with a strong digital focus; including influencer and shopper activation.

Kind adds: “This is big step change for Activia, entering into a new category and shelf position. We’re confident our brand credentials and fantastic new range will open up great potential to leverage the growth of fermented products.”

Activia’s Live Culture Smoothies will hit shelves across the UK from August 2019, with an RRP of £2.09 each bottle. The Smoothies will be stocked at Ocado, Whistlestop and Pumpkin from September and Co-Op from October, with wider launch planned in major grocery retailers later this year.
