Adnams has renewed a 10-year rolling distribution agreement with Bitburger, the brewer of Germany’s number one draught beer brand.
Adnams and Bitburger have worked closely together for over 20 years and throughout that time has seen the range of products extend to include a black lager in Kostritzer, wheat beers in Benediktiner and Licher, Konig Pilsner and the latest addition Wernesgruner Pils.
The growing retail and consumer interest in imported beers from Europe and from all corners of the world continues to increase this sector’s share of the UK beer market in both the on and off trade, said Adnams.
Maxwell Bond, Adnams sales director, said: “The relationship between Adnams and Bitburger is extremely strong – we share similar characteristics and philosophies. Both are proud of their heritage, yet modern in outlook. We both produce premium products and are committed to the very finest crafted beers that the ever-discerning customer demands. This long-term deal enables us to commit to the high-quality marketing investment that Adnams is well-known for.”
Bitburger’s Andreas Reimer said: “Bitburger Braugruppe GmbH is a privately owned company and is interested in long-term and sustainable co-operations with our business partners. The long lasting partnership with Adnams brewery is an expression for this and we are looking forward to a successful continuation of our mutual work in the future.”
Set in the heart of the Eifel Region of Germany, Bitburger exports to over 50 countries worldwide and continues to be the largest private drinks company in Germany. Adnams is Bitburger’s sole UK distributor.
