Have you ‘herd’ about the BEST new Wagyu beef on the block? Supermarket Aldi is launching 100% British Wagyu Beef Burgers in stores nationwide, bringing a taste of luxury and fine dining to your dinner table; ‘Yu’ would be a fool to miss out on this.

The steaks are high but the prices are low – hitting shelves on the 30 January, Aldi’s British Wagyu Burgers will go on sale for just £2.99 (pack of two), a fraction of the price you would typically pay, which can be as much as £12.95.

Aldi’s Wagyu beef supplier and chairman of the British Wagyu Society, Jim Bloom, commented: “I’m very excited about the launch of British Wagyu burgers into Aldi. The cows are reared on our farm in Yorkshire and thanks to its high marbling score, it is comparable to Kobe Wagyu.

“British Wagyu is set to be the next big thing in the meat industry and it’s very exciting that customers will be able to try our high-calibre Wagyu beef at such an affordable price.”

Dubbed the finest tasting in the world, Wagyu is highly prized because of its intensely rich and buttery soft, melt-in-the-mouth flavour, thanks to the fat marbling in the meat – this is beef like you’ve never tasted before, without the premium price tag.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, commented: “Here at Aldi, we champion British quality, which is why we’re delighted to be welcoming British Wagyu into our stores.

“We want customers to be able to enjoy the very best, high quality foods, at our everyday amazing prices and will be working closely with our supplier to ensure more British Wagyu lines hit stores throughout the year.”

But, you’ll have to be quick as once they’re gone, they’re gone.
