Longmartin Properties Ltd, a joint venture between Shaftesbury and the Mercers’ Company, has announced a new artisan bakery, Arôme, will remain open for takeaway services from its first permanent bricks and mortar site within The Yards, Covent Garden.
Arôme’s new 2,000sq ft bakery, located at 9 Mercer Street, The Yards, officially opened in early December. In line with government guidelines, the bakery continues to welcome customers to explore its takeaway menu, which has been built upon by using traditional French baking techniques and recipes with a unique balance of Asian influenced ingredients. The team has tied up with online business channel, Slerp, to provide consumers with the option to order online for delivery or click and collect, also available via the brand’s Instagram page.
Created by pâtissier Alix Andre and backed by restauranteur Ellen Chew’s ‘Chew on This’ group, the brand’s debut space has been designed by their in house team to exude style and presents a minimalistic feel.
Commenting on behalf of Longmartin Properties Ltd, Simon Taylor, Property Director at the Mercers’ Company, said: “It is a challenging time for all businesses but Arôme’s approach is a great example of how to adapt services within this new lockdown period. Their new debut brings an international flavour to The Yards that is unique and will continue to appeal to all our visitors. As their first bricks and mortar site in the capital, this new entrant also highlights the appeal of this area for local residents and further adds to our all-day offer and sits well alongside our other restaurants in the space to be discovered.”
Ellen Chew, co-founder, Arôme, added: “We are very excited to launch our debut site. The Yards provides a perfect balance between a central London location and an unusual and charming escape that’s ideal for us to showcase our equally unique creations.”
The Yards has maintained its commitment to creating a destination that is a safe place for visitors and employees alike. Carefully implemented social distancing measures and accompanying signage will remain in operation, and Arôme, like all businesses in The Yards, will adhere to the most up to date government guidelines.
