Asda is opening its first stand alone Click & Collect pick up point at the Green Park business park in Reading today.

The service enables customers to order food, clothing or general merchandise products online and have it delivered to the unit at Green Park.

Kieran Shanahan, home shopping director at Asda, said: “This is the latest move in our bid to make shopping even more convenient for our customers, meaning they can buy anything, anywhere, anytime.

“Shoppers are on the move more than ever before – shopping from their mobiles, laptops, and tablets as well as in traditional stores. Our new Click & Collect pick up point means we’re bringing shopping to customers, rather than waiting in for a home delivery.

“Stores without walls are the future for retail – and we’re getting to the future faster.”

The business park also includes a WHSmith store, providing a range of magazines, bestselling books, stationery, confectionery, drinks and food plus convenient services such as lottery, dry cleaning, a free to use ATM, Costa Coffee and e-top up.

Chris Carter Keall, vice president of Green Park developer, Oxford Properties, said: “We’re committed to making life easier for those that work in and around Green Park by providing best-in-class amenities. Occupiers and visitors to the park will be able to enjoy all the new shopping services shortly, with both stores opening before Christmas. In addition, the newly branded Zest at Lime Square and the refurbished Nuffield Health gym will provide in town services with out of town convenience. Also look out for the new Green Park Conference Centre opening in January 2013.”
