Do you know your pilsner from your porter, your stout from your saison? Over the past two years, nearly three new breweries have opened in Britain every week, brewing an enormous variety of styles: bitters, porters, stouts, pale ales, milds, pilsners, bocks, brown ales, lagers, altbiers, Weiss biers, gueuzes and saisons.
Northern supermarket Booths is famed for its unrivalled selection of great beers, and stocks an impressive range of over 500 beers and ciders across their craft, premium bottled ales and cider range from around 90 suppliers.
To celebrate and introduce Booths beer lovers to their selection, Booths is hosting an evening of beer and BBQ tastings in Keswick on 15 July at 7-9pm.
Ten breweries including local favourites Stringers, Eden Brewery, Bowland, Jennings and Little Valley will be sampling their wares alongside a host of other regional greats from Yorkshire, Lancashire and beyond, followed by a ‘Craft Beer School,’ from revolutionary craft brewers BrewDog. Music from a local bluegrass band and a free Booths BBQ will accompany the tastings.
Beer buyer Pete Newton said: “We work with some of the UK’s best regional breweries and with so many to choose from, we thought a Fridaynight of BBQ and beer sampling would make the perfect introduction. Tickets cost just £2, and we will be donating profits to the Cumbria Community Foundation Flood Appeal.”
Booths Beer ‘n’ BBQ Night will take place at Booths Keswick on 15 July between 7-9pm. The event coincides with Booths three for two offer on over 100 bottled beers and ciders.
Tickets cost £2.00 and can be bought in store at Booths Keswick, Tithebarn Street, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5EA.
