Presenting a significant sales opportunity for retailers, Bel UK has announced the launch of Nurishh, the brand’s first range of plant-based alternatives to cheese.

With 36% of British shoppers claiming to be following, or interested in following, a flexitarian diet, and 22% saying the same for a vegan diet, the Vegan Society approved launch is designed to cater to growing popularity for plant-based alternatives.

Following a successful soft launch with Nurishh Plant Based Alternative to Camembert in Sainsburys in December, timed perfectly for the festive period with a vegan-friendly Indulgence cheese alternative, a further two products are now being rolled out nationwide, with a full range of Slices, Block, Grated and Spreads also now developed.

With Block driving the growth of plant-based alternatives to cheese category, and Grated gaining a significant share, the first two products joining the Plant Based Alternative to Camembert are the dairy free Nurishh Mozzarella Style Block and Nurishh Cheddar & Mozzarella Style Blend Grated. The three plant-based options are now available in Asda and to retailers nationwide.

Chloe Feminier, plant-based commercial manager at Nurishh, says: “A versatile selection designed to cater to all occasions, with taste highlighted as a key barrier to buying vegan products, and insights showing consumers seeking inspiration for plant-based recipes, the new additions to the Nurishh range bolster the offering, with varied formats ensuring a delicious plant-based option for every occasion and recipe. In addition, with insights showing plant-based options are no longer only for younger generations, with shoppers over 45 accounting for over two thirds of growth over the last four years, the delicious and versatile range will help retailers meet demand, attracting valuable shopper groups into their stores and locking in long-term loyalty.”

Nurishh recently launched in Asda and is now available to retailers nationwide in cases of 6 for Nurishh Cheddar & Mozzarella Style Blend Grated and Nurishh Mozzarella Style Block, and 4 for Plant Based Alternative to Camembert.
