Benchmark your m-commerce strategy at Mobile Shopping 2018

Europe’s leading retailers will convene at Mobile Shopping, 30 January to 1 February 2018, at the Hilton, London Bankside, to benchmark their mobile commerce strategy and hear presentations from top retail brands including John Lewis, Vodafone, Tui, Debenhams and Trainline.

The event comprises two key conference days, preceded by a Mobile Payments Evaluation Day, designed to provide delegates with insight into six innovation payment providers and help determine the best payments partners.

The main conference kicks off on 31 January 2018 with the theme of Mastering the Customer Value Proposition on Mobile.

Opening the key conference session, Stuart McMillan, deputy head of e-commerce at Schuh, will explore how retailers can harness mobile in order to drive customer acquisition.

A keynote panel, featuring Lidl UK and Shop Direct, will debate the importance of a mobile strategy in retail; while David Ironside, senior product manager at, will share how retailers can enhance the user experience on mobile.

James Carter, head of digital UX at Dixons Carphone, will explore tactics for improving customer engagement on digital devices and David Slocombe, product owner mobile apps at, will reveal how retailers can employ predictive analytics to empower customers during the second conference session.

For the third and fourth conference sessions, delegates can break out into one of four tracks to discover strategies to drive purchasing on mobile. The tracks include case studies from Debenhams and On the Beach and workshops with Go Outdoors and Sainsbury’s.

In the fifth conference session, Camillo Weinz, strategic innovation manager, digital products, Tui Group, will share how new digital services are changing consumer behaviour and how retailers can best leverage new technology; and Daryl Hughes, head of e-commerce and retail, Facebook, will tell delegates how they can use social platforms as part of their e-commerce strategy and provide personalised customer communication at scale.

The second conference day, 1 February 2018, adopts Boosting Conversions on Mobile for Greater ROI, as its key theme. During the first session of the day, delegates will learn how they can support their brand strategy with mobile. Dr Geraint Evans, group head of commercial and strategic programmes, Odeon and UCI Cinemas, will deliver the board level keynote presentation focusing on strategies for developing an omni-channel roadmap in business. John Connelly, senior manager, digital and e-commerce, Coca-Cola, will showcase how top brands are deploying mobile to drive customer engagement; while Mario Vivani, tech evangelist, EU, Amazon App Store, Amazon, will provide top tips for optimising an online presence and maximising app downloads. The session wraps up with an inspirational guest speaker. Dr Simon Moore, chartered psychologist and CEO, Innovation Bubble, who will show retailers how to tap into the psyche of their customers to boost brand loyalty.

The second session of the day breaks down into a further four tracks and features case studies and workshops with Canon Europe, Shop Direct, John Lewis and Google.

The closing session explores tactics retailers can adopt to future-proof their mobile strategy and includes a case study by Nick Wilsdon, SEO lead – global channel optimisation, Vodafone Group, on transforming online discovery; and a ‘crystal ball’ panel discussion exploring the future outlook for mobile.
