Day Lewis Pharmacy, one of the largest independent pharmacy chains in the UK and Europe, will now be stocking a range of independent living products from Betterlife, supporting the independent pharmacy chain’s health and wellbeing focus.
The Betterlife range will be available to order in 270 Day Lewis Pharmacy stores around the UK, with 134 stores stocking a range of products, the larger stores featuring a mobility scooter, and a further 136 featuring the full Betterlife catalogue and marketing literature.
Betterlife, independent living offering from parent company Celesio UK, enables people to better manage everyday tasks, from bathing, dressing, reading and writing, to cooking and gardening.
This partnership with Day Lewis comes in response to huge customer demand for Betterlife products which has seen strong and rapid growth since AAH Pharmaceuticals, distributor of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products and also part Celesio UK, began supplying the range of independent living products to its independent pharmacy customers in March of this year. Through the partnership Day Lewis Pharmacy customers will be able to order Betterlife products to be delivered in store or directly to their home.
Tim Rendell head of pharmacy at Day Lewis, said: “For us, this partnership was a natural progression, the Betterlife brand and range fits perfectly with our core purpose, which aims to help people in the community stay healthy and feel better. Betterlife offers an excellent product range for our customers and all of our store teams have shown great enthusiasm for accepting the brand into the business.
“The Betterlife range provides an opportunity for our pharmacists to add value by offering products that can improve quality of life, which is something we are passionate about. The AAH team has also been incredibly supportive and has guided us throughout the process with comprehensive training and support materials to ensure our teams are able to engage customers and recommend the right product for their needs. Our pharmacy leadership team are fully engaged, excited and ready to launch the range.”
Grant Abrahams, Head of Betterlife from Celesio UK, said: “Betterlife improves the lives of patients, making everyday tasks easier and enabling those with mobility issues to live more independently.
“This partnership with Day Lewis stores is great news as it means more people will be able to access and benefit from our successful and growing line of products. It can be daunting for some people to admit that they may need help with their mobility, but by making our products more accessible, and through training the Day Lewis teams on how to use them, people are able to test the products with the help of experts in a comfortable environment directly within their communities.”
Betterlife, which is part of Celesio UK, is now one of the fastest growing brands in the UK with sales via LloydsPharmacy increasing at 209 per cent year on year since the first bricks and mortar store opened in Leeds in August 2014. All AAH customers have the opportunity to see margins up to 60 per cent should they choose to sell the Betterlife product portfolio.
