Blue Yonder, a leading provider of predictive analytics, has launched a UK office in London, and announced the appointment of Rakesh Harji as the UK managing director.
Harji will head up the new UK team as well as being responsible for Ireland, Scandinavia and the Benelux regions. He brings over 20 years of experience in big data, predictive analytics, data integration and business intelligence having previously held executive positions at a number of established and start-up technology companies, including Data Systems International and Crossgate – who was acquired by SAP in 2011.
Headquartered in Karlsruhe Germany, Blue Yonder enables companies across a range of sectors analyse their big data to help improve the accuracy of their sales forecasts or marketing campaigns and increase overall profitability. Initially created at the CERN Institute, Blue Yonder offers a proven scientific, machine-learning, predictive analytics solution that integrates and analyses historical and external big data sources to predict future product and customer requirements and trends.
“The UK is a huge market for us and with such a strong demand for predictive analytics in sectors like retail, opening a UK office is an important part of our growth strategy,” said Uwe Weiss, CEO Blue Yonder. “We’re also delighted to welcome our new UK managing director Rakesh Harji to the team. His strong experience and outstanding leadership qualities will ensure that Blue Yonder can firmly establish itself in the UK market and continue to expand across Europe.”
“Last year, Blue Yonder continued its hyper growth phase, tripling as a result of acquiring a number of new customers including UK brands such as Next and Dunnhumby,” said Harji.
“With continuous hyper growth, big name clients and leading product innovation, I can’t wait to get started on building out our UK offering and overseeing parts of Europe.”
Blue Yonder will be attending this year’s Retail Business Technology Expo (stand 326) and taking part in the Pecha Kucha presentations to discuss dynamic pricing; the process of adjusting prices in real times to suit competitive and current market situation.
Blue Yonder was also recently awarded FOCUS magazine’s Digital Star Award which recognizes innovation in technology within the B2B sector. The award was presented at the Digital Life Design technology conference in Munich in January 2013.
