Booths has been crowned ‘North West Retailer of the Year’ at the prestigious Lancashire and Cheshire Life awards. The awards, which recognise the highest calibre of food, drink and hospitality businesses, celebrate local food and those who produce it.

Booths has seen its largest and most ambitious expansion in the group’s history this year, opening stores in Hale Barns, Burscough, St Annes, with another opening in Poulton on November the 4th. The retailer has continued its dedicated work to support farmers and local producers across the four counties it is based in.

Judges commented: “Booths’ devotion to quality, combined with huge support for local food producers, has made this brand an icon on the northern retailing scene. It has never wavered in its promotion of food producers and farmers in Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and Yorkshire and this was typified by its Fair Milk scheme to help hard-pressed dairy farmers by paying them a premium for their milk.”

Edwin Booth, chairman of Booths, said :“We are delighted to receive such high praise from a magazine so well respected in Booths country. The entire Booths family, from the shop floor to the board, works extremely hard to make Booths the retailer it is, and it’s terrific to be recognised like this.”
