UK cheese specialist Bradburys has picked up an impressive raft of accolades at this year’s International Cheese Awards in Nantwich, Cheshire (26-27 July). Now in its 119th year, the event is firmly established as the biggest cheese show in the world, with this year’s competition attracting a record-breaking 5,000 entries from large scale producers and small independent artisans from the UK and across the globe.
Bradburys was delighted to scoop The Westland Award with its 40 Month Gouda in the ‘Best Dutch Cheese’ category, The Vasterbottenost Award for ‘Best Scandinavian Cheese’ and the En Route International Ltd Award, awarded to Bradburys in recognition of its Airline First Class product in the ‘Best Cheese Product for the Travel Industry, Catering & Food Service’ category.
Together with the three trophies, Bradbury’s has also taken home 37 medals from the show, including 17 Gold, 13 Silver and 7 Bronze.
Commenting on Bradburys’ success at the show, marketing director Chris Chisnall said: “The Nantwich show is the highlight of the cheese industry’s awards calendar. It’s a fantastic world-class show and we’re thrilled to be taking home such an impressive number of awards again this year.
“Bradburys is exceptionally proud of the fantastic quality cheeses that we work so hard to discover and the accolades achieved reflect the high quality product standards that we are committed to consistently offering our customers.”
The haul of awards follows on from last year’s triumph at the show, where Bradburys scooped the top Continental cheese title for a Garcia Baquero Manchego, a Spanish Ewe’s milk cheese. In 2014, the Jacquin Chabris Goats Pyramid, a handmade goats cheese supplied from Bradburys took the trophy.
