Brightpearl – the multi-channel retail management system – today announces the launch of the Brightpearl App Store, allowing retailers to extend Brightpearl functionality with the capabilities they need, through an array of apps including web stores, forecasting tools, reporting tools and more.

Brightpearl helps small-to-medium sized retailers handle the scale and complexity of growing a multi-channel business, by bringing together orders, inventory, customer data, accounting and reporting in one place. Today’s launch sees Brightpearl team up with independent app developers to provide retailers with just the management system they need for their unique businesses, the company claims.

The Brightpearl App Store is seeing rapid adoption by developers with 17 apps already available and a further 21 in development. All approved apps are listed on Brightpearl.com and are available to customers directly through their Brightpearl account.

Henry Morland, head of product at Brightpearl, said: “We’re delighted to introduce the Brightpearl App Store today. Our job is to give retailers the tools they need to successfully manage and grow their businesses. The introduction of the App Store allows developers to create apps which extend Brightpearl’s core capabilities and to promote them to the entire Brightpearl community. The range of apps on offer is growing fast. As a retailer that means you can pick and choose the apps you need to make Brightpearl map perfectly onto the way you want to do business.”

Joannes Vermorel, founder of Lokad, an app development partner, said: “Since developing and making Salescast (an inventory optimization app) and Priceforge (a pricing optimization app) available via the Brightpearl App Store, market response from the Brightpearl community of merchants has been extremely encouraging. We look forward to building our relationship with Brightpearl further and continuing to make the most of this user-friendly platform.”

Max Pullan, manager at Little Pet Warehouse, a Brightpearl App Store user, said: “The Netmatter osCommerce app for Brightpearl has meant that we can now seamlessly manage all of our systems from one location – our Brightpearl account. We can continue to provide our customers with a fast, cost-effective and reliable service. We couldn’t be happier.”

Graham Harrison, operations director at Audio Visual Commodity, another App Store user, said: “Through the Brightpearl App Store I am now talking to a company in New Zealand about forecasting, a business in Germany about reporting and a French team about our pricing. It’s invaluable for an SME of our size that we can have access to the best partners worldwide.”
