Cashzone, one the UK’s largest and fastest growing independent ATM providers, has signed a partnership agreement with the National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) to provide its 16,500 members with both free-to-use and surcharging ATMs services.

According to the company, the deal presents valuable ATM revenue opportunities to independent retailers in offering customers cash convenience.

“This agreement with Cashzone reflects our commitment to members to present the widest variety of preferential ATM deals to fit with their individual needs and circumstances,” said Graeme Collins, NFRN’s head of marketing and business development.

“In our view, Cashzone’s extensive portfolio of secure in-store and external machines, combined with its competitive revenue models for free-to-use and commission-based services, fast installation and flexible contract options make it the right choice of ATM partner for NRFN members, and we’re pleased to have them on board.”

Cashzone will operate a dedicated NFRN customer service centre, providing members who are considering or reviewing ATMs with viability and site surveys, footfall and revenue forecasts, competitor analysis and consultancy on choosing fully managed or self-fill options.

With almost 70% of NRFN members now describing themselves as convenience stores, on-site ATMs present a two-fold opportunity to support this evolution by increasing cash spent on the premises whilst generating healthy commission payments, said Cashzone.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the NFRN – especially at this time of great change and innovation under the new stewardship of Kieran McDonnell,” said Tim Halford, Cashzone’s director of business development.

“Cash remains king for independent retailers battling with a rise in card fraud and unreasonable hikes in card charges levied by banks. Coupled with the fact it is increasingly favoured by punters as economic pressures impact households, it makes sense to support NRFN members at this time to offer the best possible deal for bringing cash convenience to their premises.”

With an estate of over 6,000 cash machines across the UK, Cashzone said it is well placed to give NFRN members the highest advocacy in key issues such as security of cash on-site, cash recycling (reducing bank charges), in-store spatial optimisation, footfall and related store spending forecasts.
