Cath Kidston Group, the global lifestyle brand, has reported a 19% increase in sales to £105m for the year ended 31 March 2013. EBITDA increased by 13% to £21m.
The Group, which operates stores in the UK, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Spain, Taiwan and Thailand, opened a further 33 stores during year taking the total to 118 (58 in the UK and 60 overseas).
Kenny Wilson, CEO of Cath Kidston, said: “This has been another year of strong growth for the Cath Kidston brand in all of our territories, coupled with significant investment in people and infrastructure to support future growth.
“During the year we reached two key milestones, with group sales exceeding £100m for the first time and the number of overseas stores overtaking those in the UK. We are highly cash generative and our strong balance sheet gives us the perfect platform to continue to grow the business globally.
“In the UK, our sales increased by 21% and we opened eight stores, taking the total to 58. Overseas, we opened 25 new stores including our first stores in mainland China. Our international retail sales increased by 53%.
“We will continue to grow the brand globally, including the opening of two new flagship stores in London and Shanghai later this year. With the broad appeal of our products across the globe and the strong customer response to our brand in both the UK and Asia, we look to the future with confidence.”
