ghd, the leading high-end hair styling tool brand, is launching into China and announces the opening of the flagship ghd store on Alibaba-owned Tmall.

Following a successful cross border business with Tmall Global since 2018, launching into China with an owned business entity is a fundamental development in the evolution of ghd, a British brand which launched in 2001 in Leeds by three hairdressers with one product – the iconic ghd styler – which remains the best-selling product for the brand today.

ghd marked the official launch with an exclusive event held in Shanghai today (April 23rd), announcing the official alignment with Tmall and the collaboration project ‘Tmall Super New Star’, which is dedicated to bringing emerging brands that have been making substantial achievements in foreign markets into the vision of Chinese consumers.

A consumer facing seven-day pop-up store is the second stage in the launch activations, allowing Chinese consumers to experience the incredible results of the ghd products and discover the 20-year heritage of the brand. Opening on 1st May in Shanghai downtown, visitors will enjoy onsite how-to training and hairstyling from professional stylists during the event.
