Clonakilty Food Company announces new UK Booker listing

Irish producer Clonakilty Food Co has announced its popular Clonakilty Sausages (454g) will extend its listings with Booker in the UK. Clonakilty Sausages are now available in selected Budgens stores retailing at approx. £2.90.

This is in addition to the sausages newly becoming available through Ocado online and proving popular with the UK market. In Ireland, the brand has a huge following and widely known across the country, so the Clonaklity products have always shown to be popular with Irish expats in the UK. With increased awareness around the family-owned brand, it has started to build an audience of loyal British shoppers too.

Colette Twomey, MD of Clonakilty Food Co, said: “When Clonakilty first launched in UK supermarkets only our black pudding was available via a listing with Budgens. Since then, a wider range of our products are now available in selected Sainsbury’s, Budgens, Morrisons and Ocado and in the last year we’ve seen a 15% uplift in volume sales[1]. It’s great that more people will be able to get hold of our Ispini sausages in the UK thanks to the new Ocado and Booker listing. Our extended range of white pudding, bacon and sausages is also available through Ocado and in a wide network of independent outlets in the greater London area.”

Hailing from Ireland, Clonakilty combines traditional techniques with top quality ingredients to create exceptionally tasty products. Its traditional sausages, Clonakilty Ispini, are created from its family butchery knowledge and uses 100% Irish pork. In addition to the classic Ispini sausage, the brand also has Butcher Style, Traditional Style and Gluten-Free sausages in the range.

Clonakilty Food Co is famed for its black pudding that uses a recipe dating back to the 1880s and a secret spice recipe know only to MD Colette.
