Co-operative village: showcasing group at agricultural shows
The Co-operative Group has invested £1m in creating a ‘village’ stand to showcase its businesses at a series of agricultural and other shows throughout the summer.
The village incorporates Co-operative Group businesses including food, farms, travel, pharmacy, banking and funeral care and features a kitchen and stage area where chef Rob Morris will provide cookery demonstrations throughout the day.
It also contains a Smoothie Bike where visitors can pedal their way to their five a day; and a bespoke shop selling freshly baked products, including croissants, twists, fresh bread, cakes and cookies. The shop will also sell a range of products for visitors, including a £3.00 meal deal, five pieces of fruit for £1.00, plus Truly Irresistible lines and products from The Co-operative’s Fairtrade range.
Shoppers can also take advantage of free home delivery if they order a Truly Irresistible hamper or six bottles of Fairtrade wines and live within a 60-mile radius of the show.
Visitors to The Co-operative Village stand will have the opportunity to shape some of The Co-operative Food’s own-brand products of the future, including products in development for the summer 2012 Taste the Seasons range, and vote for their favourites.
The Co-operative village will be visiting the following shows throughout the summer:
- Devon County Show – 19-21 May
- Royal Bath and West – 1-4 June
- Manchester Day Parade – 17-19 June
- Royal Highlands Show – 23-26 June
- Great Yorkshire Show – 12-14 July
- Royal Welsh Show – 18-21 July
