Co-op set to serve-up new stores in Coventry and Aylesbury

Co-op is opening new stores in Coventry and Aylesbury this week and both will run on 100% renewable electricity.

The new-look 2,200sq ft Coventry Co-op store – located in Fairfax Street – opens on Friday, 9, October, following a £650,000 investment by the convenience retailer, creating 12 local jobs.

It includes Amazon Lockers, hot food, a bakery and Costa coffee express alongside a focus on fresh, heathy produce, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, free-from and vegan products, Fairtrade, food-to-go and, everyday essentials. Deliveries can also be made through Deliveroo, with Co-op the most widely available supermarket on the Deliveroo App.

Ben Bennett, Co-op area manager, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment, the store has a great look and feel, and we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and services locally that will create a really compelling offer, conveniently.

“We are committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally, and to operating at the heart of local life. That is why we also want customers to know that they can become a Member of their Co-op, and that they can make a difference to local causes every time they swipe their Membership card when buying own branded products.”

The new store in Haddenham, Aylesbury, also opens this week following a £625,000 investment by the convenience retailer, creating 17 local jobs.

The near 3,000sq ft Co-op store – located in Pegasus Way –  also opens on Friday, 9, October.

It includes Amazon Lockers, hot food, a bakery, Costa coffee express and customer car parking alongside a focus on fresh, heathy produce, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, free-from and vegan products, Fairtrade, food-to-go and, everyday essentials.
