New Fairtrade teas

The Co-operative is extending its own-brand Fairtrade hot beverage range to include three new Fairtrade herbal teas and a Fairtrade green tea.

The Co-operative, a leading supermarket supporter of Fairtrade, was the first UK retailer to convert its entire own-brand hot beverage range – including its iconic 99 Tea – to Fairtrade in 2008.

The four new varieties are: Camomile, Peppermint, Redbush and Green Tea. According to the Co-operative, they join the widest range of Fairtrade grocery products of any UK supermarket, with all ingredients coming from Fairtrade accredited estates.

Joanne Shooter, category manager for beverages at The Co-operative, said: “The new green and herbal teas are delicious and a great addition to our Fairtrade hot beverages range.”

The new products will be in store from 20 October 2010.
