The Co-operative Food has added 50 lines to its recently-re-launched food on the go range.

Now in stores nationwide, the additions will provide even more variety to the popular offer, while many other products have been given new recipes and packaging, making The Co-operative the ideal one-stop shop for those looking for delicious food on the go, the retailer claims.

The revamped range is said to have been driven by The Co-operative’s love and passion for food and features 100% British fresh chicken, pork and beef wherever possible, reinforcing the retailer’s commitment to supporting British farmers.

The Co-operative has introduced some premium salads to its range, which are said to be ideal for summer. The Truly Irresistible Super Rainbow Salad 250g, with tender stem broccoli, roasted peppers, beetroot, mixed leaves, quinoa and goat’s cheese, is described as an indulgent lunchtime option, which is packed full of good-for-you ingredients.

Alternatively, the Truly Irresistible Caribbean King Prawn Salad 250g – with king prawns, spiced rice with black beans, sweet potato, pineapple and spinach, and a coconut sauce for dressing – is said to be great for those who enjoy a touch of the exotic. Additionally, for a no-carb, lower-calorie option, the new Loved by us Chicken Garden Salad 230g – chargrilled chicken, cucumber, petis pois, radish and mixed leaves with a crème fraîche and chive dressing – is also low in saturated fat and contains one portion of your 5-a-day.

Meanwhile, the new Loved by us Slow Roasted Tomato and Feta Pasta Salad 240g – with roasted tomato and roasted red pepper salad, dressed penne and topped with feta cheese and fresh rocket leaf – is said to be a delicious option for veggies. Many of the new salads have been developed to be 350 calories or less, the retailer reports.

The Co-operative has also introduced its first brioche sandwich lines, including a pulled-pork brioche, which is filled with pork with barbecue and apple sauce and topped with red cabbage slaw and spinach.

For those who prefer wraps, the Truly Irresistible Caribbean Chicken and Mango Wrap is a said to be a great choice for lunch. British chicken pieces are smothered in a spicy jerk sauce, complemented with mango salsa, red peppers, spinach, fresh mango and a yogurt and mint dressing, all wrapped in a soft chilli tortilla wrap.

Classic sandwiches have been added, too, including the Truly Irresistible Hot Smoked Salmon and Beetroot Grab Bag. Soft dark malted bread is filled with Scottish hot smoked salmon, beetroot and apple chutney, fresh shredded apples and a horseradish dressing.

Additionally, The Co-operative has added some new lines to the snacking range. These include chicken tikka bites with a raita dip, king prawns with a sweet chilli dip, boiled eggs with reduced fat mustard mayo, cottage cheese with wholegrain crackers and carrot batons with reduced fat houmous.

And, for something sweet afterwards, the Loved by us Passionfruit Pannacotta Shot Pot has layers of passionfruit over a layer of pannacotta, and the Salted Caramel and Chocolate Shot Pot combines salted caramel topped with a milk chocolate mousse. They are both new to the range.

Alternatively, the ready-to-eat Raspberry Jelly 160g – with real whole raspberries – is said to be a perfect lighter summer treat.

In the drinks range, the new Loved by us Madagascan Vanilla Yogurt Drink 250ml is low in fat with yogurt made from Madagascan vanilla seeds.
