Co-operative to launch permanent Dine in Meal Deal offer for £10 in 2013

The Co-operative Food is launching a permanent £10.00 Dine In Meal Deal offer in 2013 to rival pricey takeaways or meals out.

The deal, which is claimed to be perfect for couples, will launch on 2 January 2013 in selected stores, and will include a main and a side dish for two from The Co-operative’s own-brand range, a dessert to share and a bottle of wine, lager or a soft drink for just £10.00, saving up to £3.83.

Main meal dishes in the deal for January, which will launch in selected stores nationwide, include two products from the retailer’s premium Truly Irresistible range – a Lasagne al Forno and The Co-operative Truly Irresistible Cod and Chorizo Fishcakes.

There are also two products from The Co-operative’s recently-re-launched Eat In range in the deal – Tandoori Chicken and Chicken en Croute, both of which are made with the retailer’s higher-welfare British Elmwood chicken. And, last but not least, Mediterranean Vegetable Pasta Melt.

Sides include Truly Irresistible products such as Watercress Salad with Warm Chilli Dressing and Limited Edition Garlic Bread, plus Eat In Garlic Drilled Jackets, Chunky Chips, and Layered Vegetables with Peas and Sweetcorn.

Desserts include Truly Irresistible Pecan Tarts, Truly Irresistible New York Cheesecake or Lemon Cheesecake on offer, Gü Chocolate Ganache Mini Pots or Lemon Mini Puds.

Customers can also grab a bottle of South African wine from The Co-operative’s own-brand range as part of the deal, with a red, white and a rosé to choose from. Beer lovers can choose a large bottle (660ml) of San Miguel, Stella Artois or Peroni Nastro Azzuro, or shoppers can pick a soft drink instead, with drink from Bottlegreen and Britvic included in the offer.

Kate Jones, head of product development for The Co-operative Food, said: “We are confident our shoppers will love this amazing great-value meal deal, which is perfect for couples who want a fuss-free Friday night or a tasty and convenient mid-week meal without breaking the bank.”
