Corona celebrates great outdoors with new in-store promotion


Corona, the UK’s best-selling sunshine beer, will be inspiring and enabling people to go outside, embrace nature and live more moments that matter this summer. Helping retailers to maximise summer spending over the coming months, Corona’s latest campaign ‘Outside is Our Best Side’ will be supported by a new in-store promotion across the country.

To celebrate the freedom of the outdoors, Corona is working with customers to provide shoppers with free Corona coolers, delivered directly to their door. After purchasing any pack of Corona from any eligible retailer, shoppers can visit from 2 July, where they will need to upload a picture of their receipt and scan their barcode to earn points (one Corona = one point). Consumers who collect 60 points will then be able to receive one of 13,000 Corona coolers available.

The cooler, made from sustainably sourced premium steel and aluminium, holds 12 bottles of Corona. With a built-in bottle opener, it’s the ideal addition to BBQs and picnics this summer – encouraging consumers to spend more time outdoors with friends and savour the moments that matter.

While its high quality, distinctive taste and iconic lime ritual have made Corona a crowd-pleaser all year-round, 65% of all Corona sales come during the summer months.AB InBev’scooler promotion, which runs from 2 July until 16 September will help retailers to drive sales of the UK’s favourite sunshine beer[4] throughout the summer period, encouraging repeat purchase. To support the campaign, select packs of Corona (10 X 330 ml; 12 X 330 ml; 18 X 330 ml) will include stickers promoting the activity.

AB InBev – recently voted Branded Supplier of the Year in the 2018 Grocer Gold Awards –  is also supporting additional stores through display units to showcase the promotion, helping to drive awareness of the campaign and increase rate of sale. This visibility will be key in helping retailers make the most of the weather, particularly when considering that over a quarter of consumers (26%) purchasing beer and cider intend to drink it straight away or later that day (28%).

The ‘Outside is Our Best Side’ campaign will be supported by Out Of Home activity as well as below-the-line and social influencers as part of an integrated campaign to help AB InBev’s customer maximise the summer season.
