Costco Wholesale adopts SideUp Reply DropShip solutions for Asian e-commerce operations

Reply, specialises in the design and implementation of solutions based on digital media and new communication channels, has announced that Costco Wholesale has adopted SideUp Reply DropShip Solutions for its Asian e-commerce operations.

In 2015 Costco extended its international e-commerce operations into the Asia region. Costco selected SideUps WMS andDSS solutions to manage the fulfilment operations of their business. While the SideUp WMS system is an establish solution within Costco’s e-commerce framework, DSS is an entirely new adoption.

In November 2015 the first instance of Sideup Reply Dropship went live in Costco Korea e-commerce and then two months later a second go live with Costco Taiwan in January 2016. The combined adoption of SideUp WMS and DSS allowed Costco a single point for a global view of their order information.

Costco Wholesale Corporation is an American membership-only warehouse club that provides a wide selection of item categories. As of 2014, it was the third largest retailer in the United States, in 2015 it is the second largest in the world and the largest membership warehouse club chain in the United States.

SideUp Reply is a Suite as a Service of cloud solutions for managing warehouses, inventory, and track-and-trace and warehousing services.

In 2015, the suite was enriched with launch of the Sideup Reply DropShip Solution, DSS. SideUp DSS is an innovative new module that empowers retailers to sell on their e-commerce web sites third party vendor’s products. Retailers easily monitor and manage the progress and performance of their vendor’s fulfilment levels. Vendors identify, process and ship orders via an easy to use web user interface or through their own WMS directly integrated with SideUp DSS.

While all actions and data can be manually driven, a completely integrated solution is available for the big vendors that require a WMS integration. Our standard integration pack allows System-to-system integration with ease and minimal complexity.

SideUp DSS provides some other key features:

Reporting: in depth monitoring of vendor performance through a selection of high level graphical and KPI dashboards which can be drilled down into, to provide detailed data information;
Stock visibility: allowing all vendors to load on SideUp DSS their current stock level, and then communicating this information in near real-time to the customer order management system;
Exception management: different severities of exception can be monitored and managed in DSS, such as cancelation requests, by flagging up and potential or manually raised problems and highlighting their presence to the users;
Communications: DSS has a few different levels of communication built into the system;
Returns: as a future extension, a fully integrated returns module will allow the retailer to control and monitor customer returns back through their warehouses
