Deliveroo and Majestic Wine have today announced another major expansion of their delivery partnership to cover 137 UK stores across the UK, alongside an expanded range of rosé and white wine available on the Deliveroo app.

The expansion comes as Deliveroo reveals exclusive data which shows that customer demand is highest at 5 o’clock on a Friday with Londoners the thirstiest in the UK and fuelling customer demand. Majestic Wine has also reported that sales of Rosé wine in particular have soared 90% during lockdown, as the nation pine after their cancelled European summer holidays back in Blighty.

The top selling Rosé wine on the Deliveroo app during lockdown has been Jas de Vignes IGP Mediterranee Rose, followed by Whispering Angel Rosé, which all enjoyed a surge of demand during the heatwave in May.

The full range on the Deliveroo app now covers 55 products and is available from 137 different Majetic locations across the UK, delivered in as little as under 30 minutes. The number of locations has jumped from 30 sites at the start of the year fuelled by rising customer demand due to people being at home during the COVID-19 crisis and the warm weather. Exclusive Deliveroo data shows that London leads the way for orders, followed by Edinburgh, Brighton and Manchester.

In an effort to ensure that customers can continue to access their favourite items from Majestic at affordable prices, items remain priced the same as in Majestic stores. This is a significant move to make sure people during COVID-19 have access to everything they need and want on the Deliveroo app.

In response to customer demand, the range will now include a number of new Rosé choices, including Bardolino and Bread and Butter rosé, as well as G&T cans for the first time – just in time for the sunny weather this weekend.

Current best-sellers for Majestic’s Deliveroo customers during lockdown include the LB7 Portuguese Red from Lisbon,  Jas de Vignes IGP Mediterranee Rose, Whispering Angel Rose, Lisboa Red and Definition Oaked Chardonnay.

Ajay Lakhwani, vice president of new business, Deliveroo said: “We are delighted to announce yet another expansion with Majestic Wine, the UK’s leading specialist in wine, and play our role in making sure households have access to everything they need and want during COVID-19. The roll-out of Majestic Wine on Deliveroo across 137 stores in the UK is fantastic news for our customers across the country, who can now enjoy an even wider choice of delicious wine, delivered in as little as under 30 minutes.”

Robert Cooke, Majestic’s chief commercial officer, said: “We are delighted that this partnership continues to provide joy and discovery for customers from the comfort of their own home. We are always looking for new ways to help our customers keep making those discoveries whilst in lockdown and beyond, as safely and interactively as possible. With Majestic’s unbeatable expertise and range, alongside the fantastic service Deliveroo offer, even more wine lovers from Taunton to Cardiff can now get brilliant bottles direct to their homes. Wine has never been so popular in the UK and working together with Deliveroo we want to make that perfect glass as accessible as possible.”
