BrandAlley Group, the French parent company of designer discount website, BrandAlley UK, has appointed CEO Antoine Leloup as president.
The move follows the departure of Sven Lung who has left the Group at the end of his six-year term as president.
Leloup has been part of the company since its launch and had an active role in the creation of BrandAlley in the UK.
Leloup said he intends to continue BrandAlley’s ambitious development, looking to increase the Group’s market share on both sides of the Channel and establish itself in new European countries over the next few years.
Rob Feldmann, CEO of BrandAlley UK, said: “Against the backdrop of challenging economic conditions that have affected the UK retail sector over the Christmas period, BrandAlley is pleased to report it has successfully generated an impressive growth rate of more than 61% during the last quarter of 2011, with our unique visitors up by 92% when compared to the same period in 2010.
“2012 will, we believe, prove to be yet another exciting year of further opportunity and continued growth for the company.”
During 2011, BrandAlley said it added more than 100 brands to its portfolio and cemented its market-leading position in private sales in the UK.
The company said it also recruited more than 500,000 new members, taking its total to 2.5m; and won marketing awards including the title of fastest-growing retailer in a survey of 200,000 online shoppers, carried out by intelligence firm Compete, a Kantar Media company.
BrandAlley said it is planning to launch a mobile site shortly and claims it is well positioned to maintain its market leading position in the UK market throughout 2012 and beyond.
