Paul Cheema, one of the UK’s leading convenience store owners, has joined forces with bigDL, the powerful digital marketing platform, to drive footfall and sales in his convenience stores. The partnership will see Cheema roll out bigDL’s breadth of marketing tools, including beacon and mobile coupon technology. Major brands will also team up with bigDL and Cheema to offer exclusive mobile coupons on their products.

bigDL is a digital communication tool that enables retailers and brands to connect with consumers via their mobile devices. At the hub of bigDL’s technology is its mobile application which provides consumers with a comprehensive view of the best deals on the high street and online. Retailers and brands can upload their best deals as well as mobile coupons on the app, which will be viewed by local shoppers. The bigDL app has an average rating of 4*s on the Apple App store and Google Play, with the average user using the app seven times per month, viewing 26 screens for 12 minutes 48 seconds.
Major brands joining forces with bigDL and Paul Cheema include Coke, Cereal Partners, Ferrero and Premier Foods. The brands will fund the mobile coupons, which can be found on the bigDL app. Coupons can then be redeemed in his stores with bigDL’s mobile coupon reader. bigDL’s mobile coupons have an average redemption rate of 11 per cent, almost twenty times the industry average paper coupon redemption rate of 0.8 per cent.
bigDL will also install beacons in each store. The beacons will interact with shoppers within a 25 metre radius of each store via their mobile device. This will attract local customers by sending them targeted and personalised deals and coupons based on location, interests and shopping behaviour.
