Easy Bean, the range of one-pot premium ready meals, which includes Fairtrade lines, will go on sale in 20 Booths stores next month (September 2011).
In May the company launched the UK’s only ready prepared meals to carry the Fairtrade mark into Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado and independent outlets.
In addition to the Booths listing, the range will also be available to the trade from Suma Wholefoods and Independent Irish Health Foods.
Booths has listed the two Fairtrade products: African Palava and New Mexican Chilli plus Moroccan Tagine; and, in some stores, Spanish Puchero. Suma Wholefoods and Independent Irish Health Foods will sell the four Easy Bean vegetarian pots. Independent stores and cafés can also purchase the products via Marigold, The Health Store, Queenswood, Longman’s and Best of the West.
Founder, Christina Baskerville, who set up the company in 2007 in her Dorset kitchen, said: “We are delighted to be sold in Booths stores and have already had a great response from customers there.
“Listings at Suma and Independent Irish will make it even easier for independents to stock Easy Bean. Feedback suggests we are the best fit supplier of healthy meal pots for independent retailers. They like the authenticity of our products – Easy Bean is the creator of the concept of one pot meals; each recipe is hand prepared, then cooked in small batches in our own kitchen – a converted barn near Castle Cary, Somerset – and offers the best health credentials of any meal pot.”
