eBay, the online marketplace, announces today that Rhian Bartlett has been appointed senior director of soft goods, with a remit to develop eBay’s strategy and drive growth in key non-durable categories including clothing and home & garden.
Bartlett joins eBay from Sainsbury’s, where she was business unit director for the grocery non food division. She previously held roles within other major retailers, including Safeway, Superdrug and Homebase. In her role at eBay, Bartlett will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy to drive growth for eBay’s soft categories.
Tanya Lawler, vice president eBay in the UK, said: “eBay has been changing the way people shop for the past two decades, and we remain committed to blurring the lines between online and offline shopping, with initiatives such as our click & collect programme in partnership with Argos. Rhian’s deep expertise across both physical and digital retail, along with experience in key categories, makes her an exciting senior addition to the eBay team.”
Bartlett will join eBay in spring 2014 and will report to Tanya Lawler.
