eBay Enterprise, an eBay Inc. company, today announced that it will open a new European fulfilment centre in Germany in the second quarter of 2015. The multi-million dollar investment illustrates the success eBay Enterprise has experienced during the past 12 months, with double-digit growth across its international client base, the retailer claims.
The new eBay Enterprise 280,000sq ft facility, located in the Halle district north of Leipzig, along with its key partnerships provides more than 70 carriers and 350 service options to expedite easy cross-border shipping throughout Europe. The facility’s strategic location, industry-leading carrier cut-off times and flexible, cost-effective solutions will enable omni-channel growth for international brands and retailers, eBay said.
“Fulfilment remains the lynchpin of a successful omnichannel operation and this new German facility allows us to support our clients’ local and pan-European fulfilment needs,” said Michael Kliger, vice president international, eBay Enterprise. “We are committed to providing European brands and retailers a localised fulfilment and shipping solution that can offer the scale, reliability, and cost efficiencies they demand for their digital operations on a global level.”
eBay Enterprise continues to expand globally with its recently announced new office in Barcelona. The company claims it is also the leader in local commerce enabling store-based fulfilment in more than 5,500 stores for 42 brands, 29 retailers and across 15 countries in three continents with expectations to reach 6,000 stores by the end of 2014. eBay Enterprise currently provides commerce technologies, warehouse and store-based fulfilment, customer care and marketing solutions for leading European brands and retailers, including Achica, Finlux, Peak Performance, and Tiger of Sweden.
