Organisers of the 2013 ECR Europe Conference & Marketplace claim this year’s event has one of its strongest ever speaker line-ups.
Among the top speakers will be the former prime minister of the Netherlands, Jan Peter Balkenende, who now leads the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition; EU Competition Commissioner Joaquín Almunia; MEP Anna Maria Corazza Bildt; INSEAD marketing professor Marcel Corstjens and respected environmentalist, Jonathon Porritt.
Leading names from the consumer goods industry include Carrefour CEO Georges Plassat; president of Coca Cola’s Europe Group, Dominique Reiniche; Auchan’s supply chain and quality director, Léandre Boulez; and Sonae COO Luis Reis.
The first ECR Europe Awards will be presented at a dinner during the conference. Three awards will be made: Lifetime Achievement, honouring an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry; Next Generation Leader, chosen from ECR’s LaB education programme; and Best Activation, for the best collaborative project, as judged by conference delegates.
The two-day event – which takes place in Brussels on 14-15 May 2013 – is being shared for the first time with the retail organisation EuroCommerce, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
EuroCommerce President Dame Lucy Neville-Rolfe will join ECR Europe’s Co-chairs, Jan Zijderveld (Unilever) and Thomas Hübner (Carrefour) in opening the conference.
