Emerge, the value for money sports and energy drinks brand manufactured by Cott Beverages, is adding a Tropical Berry flavour to the range.

It is the third variant in the Emerge Sport line up and joins the already popular orange and mixed berry flavours.

Helping regular exercisers and serious athletes, the still soft drink has been developed to quickly hydrate the body before, during and after exercise, claims the company. It is sold in 500ml PET sports bottles, with a sports cap, and has a rrp of 50p.

Launched this month, Cott Beverages said it hoped the new flavour will provide existing customers with more choice, help attract new customers to Emerge and cement the brand’s position as one of the leading sports and energy brands in the market.

Emerge is currently one of the fastest growing energy sport drinks in the UK, with a 56% year-on-year growth (SymphonyIRI).

To support this success, and the launch of the Tropical Berry flavour, Emerge is investing in a consumer marketing campaign for 2012.

In May the Emerge brand will undertake a whistle stop tour of 10 UK university campuses to showcase the new flavour (along with Emerge’s other Juiced, Stimulation and Glucose lines) to students, one of their key target audiences.

Barry Goode, Emerge brand manager, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our popular Emerge Sport brand with the new exciting Tropical Berry flavour. Today’s sports and energy consumer is looking for a product that provides real value for money, without forsaking quality, and this is exactly what the Emerge brand can offer.

“2012 promises to be a really exciting year for us with a number of new product developments underway. Our marketing strategy over the next 12 months is concise, fun and in keeping with our target audience. We’re particularly looking forward to our student campus tour that is kicking off in May and numerous sampling events throughout the summer.”
