Equi’s Ice Cream, the Lanarkshire-based luxury ice cream company, has significantly expanded listings with major UK retailer Asda across all of their Scottish stores for its Double Cream Vanilla Ice Cream.
The new listings at Asda will see Equi’s Double Cream Vanilla Ice Cream being rolled out across all 39 stores in Scotland. The multi-award winning ice cream is made with milk and double cream from local dairy farms and natural Bourbon Vanilla sourced from Madagascar, making it incredibly rich in flavour.
Regional buying manager at Asda, Heather Turnbull, said: “Equi’s Ice Cream has been available at Asda for 14 years now and has been a huge success in stores across the country. Over the years we have stocked a number of products allowing customers to enjoy luxury ice cream packed full of home-grown Scottish taste, talent and provenance. Supporting local Scottish suppliers is an integral part of what we strive to do at Asda and we’re delighted to continue to support Equi’s Ice Cream range across our stores.”
David Equi, managing director of Equi’s Ice Cream, commented: “We have enjoyed working with Asda for a number of years and securing a listing in all of their stores across Scotland is a great achievement for the company. Like Asda, we have always been truly committed to provenance and quality, using the very best ingredients and sourcing locally wherever possible. With 95 years under our belt, 2017 has been a hugely successful year for Equi’s in terms of new listings and multiple award wins, and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow sales as we move into 2018.”
Equi’s was set up in 1922 by David Equi’s grandfather Pietro, and the company has remained in the family since. As well as the original ice cream parlour in Hamilton, Equi’s also has parlours in Motherwell and Aberdeen and its ice cream and sorbets are served in cafes and restaurants across Scotland. Equi’s ice cream is also available to buy from selected Morrisons and Dobbies in Scotland.
