Carsten Kraus, founder and CEO of a leading e-commerce search and navigation specialist FACT-Finder.com, has been appointed as chair of the second Cross Border eCommerce (Import) Conference, which takes place on 27 November 2014 in Shanghai, China.

“I am honoured to be chosen as chairman of such a prestigious conference,” said Kraus. “The cross border ecommerce market continues to boom in China and across the rest of the world. It’s important that retailers are kept abreast of the latest policies and incentives in China and how it will impact the global e-commerce market.”

The role reflects Kraus’ reputation as a global thought leader and technical expert on trends in the ecommerce market, and exemplifies FACT-Finder’s market-leading position in Europe. “Events like this are key to the development of the global ecommerce industry and FACT-Finder is delighted to support this,” said Kraus.

Kraus’ appointment coincides with the upcoming launch of a new ecommerce solution from FACT-Finder, aimed at improving customers’ search experience.

“The Chinese e-commerce market is incredibly exciting due to its size and rapid growth,” said Kraus. “However, it’s vital that global retailers improve the quality of search for their Chinese customers.”

“That’s why we have developed a new core technology, called Wordmatch, which will be launched with the next generation of FACT-Finder in 2015,” he explained. “It is the only solution on the market that can analyse non-Latin-based languages, such as Chinese, without the need for transliteration, to deliver faster and more accurate searches for Chinese e-commerce customers. So watch this space.”
