factor-a, Europe’s largest Amazon specialist agency, which advises more than 300 manufacturers and brands on how to maximize their success on the sales platform, has analysed the trending keywords in home and garden on Amazon based on sales conversion rates during April. Here are the results:
Organisation and then leisure are top of mind among consumers when it comes to their garden furniture choices this spring, factor-a’s analysis of Amazon keyword data reveals.
Garden storage boxes are the most searched keywords, based on sales conversion rates, with outdoor storage items in general featuring four times in the top 10. Hammocks is the second most popular category by keyword search, with garden chairs in at number three. Other items featuring in the top 25 include outdoor tables and chairs and garden and tree swings. Screening products also feature three times, suggesting householders are happy to make the move outdoors provided they have some privacy in their gardens. Just one brand makes the top 25 keyword ranking – Keter, in at #12 with the Keter storage box.
Within the garden accessories category, solar powered water features and products are among the most popular keywords, based on sales conversion rates, ranking first and second and occupying four out of the top 10 slots. Solar is also a top term within garden lighting too, suggesting home owners are looking for mains-free options both in their lighting and decorative water feature choices.
Strung solar lighting also appears on trend with searches for ‘solar string lights outdoor garden’, ‘outdoor solar string lights’, ‘parasol lights’ and ‘solar lanterns outdoor’ all featuring in the top 25 search terms, based on sales conversions.
Gas barbecues dominate the keywords among BBQs, ranking first and third.
And, while consumers are clearly ready and happy to ‘fire up the barbie’ at home, a number are interested in barbecuing at ‘away from home locations’ such as while camping, at festivals and on hikes since ‘camping bbq’, ‘portable bbq grill’, ‘portable bbq’, ’charcoal bbq with lid’ and ‘small bbq’ all feature in the top 25 keyword search terms. Two brands feature in the ranking – Weber and Cadac.
Tidying is clearly top of mind when it comes to consumer’s garden power tool choices this spring with ‘strimmer’, ‘paint sprayer’, ‘lawnmower’, ‘steam cleaner’ and ‘strimmer cordless’ ranking from the #1 position through to #5 respectively. But it’s not all about hard graft in the garden – after strimming, trimming, scarifying and spraying, consumers are finding time to access a little hobby and leisure time with ‘metal detectors for adults’ and ‘metal detectors’ winning a mid-table ranking in terms of keyword search.
Two brands feature in this category, Karcher at #13 and Flymo at #24.
