Family-owned Ritter Sport launches online Choco Shop, a D2C website

Family-owned Ritter Sport has launched its online Choco Shop, a D2C website allowing consumers to buy its full range of iconic square chocolate, special gift items, personalised sleeves and other merchandise direct for the very first time. 

The news comes on the back of another record-breaking year for the brand which has seen it outperform the total block chocolate market with growth of +37%* YOY, a sixth consecutive year of growth for the brand, further bolstered by a major new listing in Morrisons. The new D2C shop is part of Ritter’s plans to increase brand awareness and drive household penetration which it believes will help bring in new shoppers and drive sales across all retail channels. Furthermore, the brand expects to use the shop to test exciting new product innovation in the UK (such as its 100g Yoghurt bar now selling for £1.99) and gather other invaluable consumer insight which will help inform future go-to-market retail strategies with its key customers.

With a range of over 20 delicious bars, the Choco Shop will make available unique and exclusive buys not currently sold in stores and deliver them direct to the consumer’s door. These gifting items and merchandise include: 

‘Perfectly Personalised Sleeves’ including Happy Birthday, Love You, Miss You, Congratulations and Thank You as well as a range of three ‘Gorgeous Gift Boxes’ each filled with eight 100g Ritter Sport favourites including milk, dark and nut chocolate SKUs.

Marvellous Merchandise offering Ritter Sport fans their very own plushy Don Choco Super Sloth – resident superstar of the company’s fully owned and managed 2,500-hectare cocoa plantation ‘El Cacao’ in Nicaragua where he and his sloth friends have set up home in the 1,250-hectare area that’s permanently reserved for nature.
