Fly fishing retailer Orvis is aiming to drive online sales

The Orvis Company, a retailer of fly-fishing gear, outdoor clothing, home furnishings, gifts and dog products has teamed up with ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce platform provider, to drive online sales.

Orvis is using ChannelAdvisor’s Paid SearchComparison Shopping and Rich Media solutions in both the UK and USA.

“Over the years our relationship with ChannelAdvisor has prospered due to our continued success on multiple channels,” said Orvis e-commerce manager Arin Shortt.

“We have thousands of products in our inventory, so it was incredibly time-consuming to optimise and distribute these products to 14 different paid search and comparison shopping engines. The ChannelAdvisor team has now taken on the management of our data feeds, and we’ve been very pleased with their level of expertise and our results.”

Orvis reports it has achieved an increase in new buyers and online orders over the previous year, after signing with ChannelAdvisor. The company has also used ChannelAdvisor’s Rich Media solution to create interactive online versions of the company’s successful print catalogues, providing an additional channel for reaching customers.
