The Consumer Goods Forum (formerly CIES) is co-hosting the 7th CCFA Food Safety Annual Conference in China with its local partner – China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA). This event will take place in the Hangzhou Braim Canal Hotel in Hangzhou, China, 13-15 April 2011.

According to organisers, the event offers delegates four key benefits:

  • Exchange current international thinking and knowledge on food safety with your food safety peers
  • Get the latest updates on the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and learn about the added value and benefits of working with this programme
  • Learn from speakers who come from global retailer and manufacturing companies who will share their experiences
  • Network with other local food safety professionals

The Consumer Goods Forum said GFSI would like to strengthen its links with local retailers, manufacturers and service providers to identify the needs of the Chinese marketplace; and the event will promote discussion on key food safety issues to identify future work items to add to the GFSI agenda.

There is opportunity and indeed the need for involvement of Chinese companies in ongoing and new GFSI projects, such as the Global Markets programme.
