Franchisee realises dream to open Papa John’s in hometown of Stourbridge

Franchisee Atif Maroof Zar has realized his dream to open a Papa John’s in his hometown of Stourbridge in the West Midlands.  Multi-unit franchisee Afif Maroof Zar joined Papa John’s in 2017 and now runs 11 stores with the help of his brothers Umair Ramay and Amir Maroof and over 150 team members.  

Atif Maroof Zar confirms: “Opening a Papa John’s in my hometown has been a goal for some time and is now a dream come true!   It means a lot that our community, including my own family and friends, can now enjoy the treat of fresh Papa John’s pizza delivered right to their door!”
 
The new store located on Hagley Road, is one of the first to benefit from Papa John’s refreshed branding.  Atif Maroof Zar continues: “This makes the store even more welcoming!  The team are enthusiastic about the bold, modern, logo which is fun and ‘inspired by our stretchy dough’ while the look and colours illustrate our quality ingredients even better.  We feel it will have a great impact on the brand as we continue to grow.”
 
Atif Maroof Zar who previously worked at two rival pizza firms and also managed a Papa John’s, before he became a franchisee confirms: “Our people are the key ingredient to our success.  We have recruited 15 new team members to manage the Stourbridge store and are always on the lookout for more great people to join us!  Everyone undertakes full training and has access to the Papa John’s Pizza Academy system.  It contains a suite of training modules about subjects as diverse as making specific pizzas, to finance and customer service.  Any new team member may join as a delivery driver but map out a career pathway by acquiring the relevant skills and experience to become a team leader or store manager and beyond.  We know a motivated and happy team means we can deliver great pizza to the communities around our stores and provide an even better service to our customers.”
