Restaurants are turning to retail as a new way to meet their patrons where they are—home. This trend also provides a new revenue stream for restaurateurs looking for ways to expand their business model and bottom-line. With the help of FreshDirect’s expert merchant team, three New York City culinary favorites—Carbone, Nam Wah and Milk Bar are debuting restaurant-inspired products for customers to prepare in their kitchens and enjoy at the dining table:

·       Carbone – Carbone is partnering with FreshDirect to launch their line of pasta sauces. The NYC restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century in New York, where delicious, exceptionally well-prepared food was served in settings that were simultaneously elegant, comfortable and unpretentious. Like all their popular dishes, these sauces are promised to elevate any pasta dish to a new level.

·       Milk Bar – Milk Bar is a sweet (and occasionally savory) shop that’s been turning familiar treats upside down and, on their heads, shaking up the dessert scene since 2008. Founded by James Beard award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, Milk Bar first opened its doors in NYC’s East Village, and soon developed a loyal fanbase. The unexpected treat makes any occasion a reason to celebrate yourself or others and is now available at FreshDirect.

  • Nom Wah– Nom Wah’s first location was not always about dim sum. The original restaurant opened as a tea parlor and bakery in 1920. Transcending its roots, Nom Wah will launch a line of dumplings FreshDirect customers are sure to love.
