Within a growing market of smartphone and tablet accessories assisted by celebrities sporting their own personalised cases in mirror selfies, Fujifilm UK and IDT Systems, a leading provider of 2D and 3D surface decoration solutions, have signed a deal enabling Fujifilm to distribute IDT Systems technology “Case Station” to photo retailers, allowing them to produce high quality, 3D full wrap covers in-store in under six minutes.
With Smartphone ownership in the UK currently standing at 59% and one in three households owning a tablet, protecting each device has taken a step up; not only do consumers want to lessen the chance of potential damage to their phone but they want their case to stand out from the crowd with a personalised design that gives them more individuality than ever.
“With our Fujifilm IMAGINE software, photo retailers can already offer their customers the ability to use their photographic images to create and order a whole range of products through the mobile app, online service or in-store kiosk. With IDT System’s solution, these same photo retailers will now be able add on the ability to create fantastic high quality 2D and 3D covers for a huge range of different smartphone and tablet devices,” said Neill Harris, general sales and technical manager for Photo Imaging at Fujifilm UK.
IDT has recently launched “Case Station” to the retail market offering a print-on-demand system allows customers to design, create and purchase personalised cases in-store. Customers can design their own case by uploading personal photographs, choosing from high-quality stock images or designs and adding text of their choice. They also have the opportunity to layer multiple images to ensure their design is unique to them. With the system moulding and printing the case there and then, customers can leave the store with a personalised phone case, without having to wait for home delivery.
Peter Woodd, CEO of IDT Systems, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to offer our technology to such a prestigious company and the wider market that they deal with. The personalisation market is continually growing in stature and to be a part of that with such high quality products is what we’re striving for. The technology is used worldwide and with the ownership of smartphones and tablets continuously on the rise, it’s an offering that customers not only want, but expect.”
IDT Systems has operational bases in the UK and Europe, North and South America, China and throughout Asia Pacific, Australia and South Africa, and provides its clients with both global reach and local solutions.
