Leather-goods brand, Furla, to expand globally with TXT Retail


TXT Retail has announced that Furla, the Italian fashion company of high-quality bags, shoes and accessories, has selected the TXTPlanning solution as its corporate Planning platform.

From London to Tokyo, from New York to Singapore, TXTPlanning will support Furla in planning fashionable ranges for its global retail chain from ‘end to end’, from merchandise financial planning, to open-to-buy and assortment planning across all of its products, channels, markets.

The project in partnership with Deloitte, one of the largest professional services firms, applies the TXT AgileFit deployment methodology which provides reference processes and best practices that accelerate roll-out times and time to achieve benefits.

“Furla is growing at an incredible pace, both in terms of the markets we serve and depth of our assortment. Furla is renowned as a ’lifestyle’ brand. Its collections do not only include bags, but also shoes and leather accessories, in addition to which are the jewellery, glasses, textile accessories and a new line for men,” Furla explained. “We were looking for a planning solution which could help us integrate the process from strategy to customer, tailor our assortments to different geographies and stores, as well as to obtain the ‘end to end’ visibility which will help our merchants and buyers always make informed decisions thanks to effective information sharing. We found in TXTPlanning the best fit to our needs, while the joint Deloitte and TXT team was fast in understanding our requirements.”

Furla was created by the Furlanetto family over 80 years ago and still maintains family ownership combined with a strongly managerial company structure: ‘tradition that is constantly renewed’ is the company motto. From its headquarters in Bologna, a historic 18th century villa, the company promotes and develops its international markets, currently distributing its collections to 100 countries. Its products are present in over 1100 sales outlets – multibrand and department stores – and in 398 single brand boutiques located in the world’s most elegant fashion and shopping streets.
