Leading recipe box company Gousto is launching Seoul Train, a limited edition range of Korean recipes, using authentic bold flavours and traditional Korean ingredients.

Whilst the nation eagerly awaits travel to reopen, the Seoul Train recipes are designed to take food lovers on a journey to experience Korea’s exciting culinary scene, from the comfort of their own kitchens.

This comes as new research from Gousto found that almost half of Brits (42%) have been trying new cuisines at home to try and feed their craving for experiencing different cultures and Korean is the cuisine that Brits most want to learn to cook at home*.

The South Korean music scene will also be explored, as home cooks can crank up a bespoke playlist of K-Pop tunes by scanning a QR code on the Seoul Train recipe cards. This is part of Gousto’s partnership with Spotify which uses customer behaviours to match Gousto recipes to music listening habits.

Kathryn Huxtable, food director at Gousto, commented: “We’ve seen a rise in demand for Asian recipes during lockdown as the country became more adventurous with their cooking, seeking out new experiences to bring into the home. The new Seoul Train range takes this to the next level, giving our customers a chance to experiment with the unique flavours of Korea and gain a sense of the country’s inspiring food scene.

“Our vast range of exciting recipes is what keeps us ahead of the competition and we’ll continue to offer new cuisines to be cooked up at home, meeting the growing demand for adventurous cooking.”

Gousto’s Seoul Train recipes include the Korean Fried Chicken With Yang-Nyum Sauce and Korean Pork BBQ Samgyeopsal as well as vegetarian options such as the Korean Kimchi & Tofu Jiggae Stew and Korean Vegetable Bibimbap With Kimchi.
