Gousto partners with award-winning brand, The Jolly Hog, bringing premium pork to boxes

Bristol-based premium pork brand, The Jolly Hog, is to supply British Outdoor Bred Great Taste Award-Winning pork products to recipe box Gousto.

From the 31st August, The Jolly Hog’s Proper Porker Sausages and Double Smoked Dry Cured Streaky Bacon will replace the recipe box’s existing pork products for all relevant recipes on the Gousto menu. Bursting with flavour, the bacon is double smoked with oak and beech and the sausages are balanced with sage and seasoning, at 84% high quality pork.

Recipe box customers can expect to see the changes rolling out from the end of August, with favourite dishes such as Sticky Honey Mustard Sausages with Garlicky Greens and the Bacon & Leek Tart with Zingy Potato Salad all experiencing the upgrade.

Founded in 2008, The Jolly Hog was set up by the three Kohn brothers, and has since established itself as a leading meat brand, with listings in 6 major supermarkets. Bred outdoors in England, The Jolly Hog’s products are British RSPCA assured and the brand is proud to maintain a high level of animal welfare.

The company also has a family run restaurant and bar, Pigsty, in Bristol, using local suppliers and their own pork products on the menu. To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, the eatery will be recreating a Gousto customer favourite to coincide with the launch, the Sticky Honey Mustard Posh Dogs with Chips, which will be available until the end of September.

Andrew Lewis, buying director at Gousto, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the award-winning taste of The Jolly Hog to the Gousto menu. Ensuring the best quality for our customers is something we’re constantly striving for, and with their unrivaled taste and certified welfare standards, The Jolly Hog is the ideal fit.”

Max Kohn, one of The Jolly Hog founders, added: “Like Gousto, we’re big on flavour and can’t wait for customers to try our porky products in their favourite dinnertime recipes and really taste the difference.”
