Grenade recognised in 23rd Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 Awards for sixth year running

Grenade has again been recognised, for the sixth consecutive year, in the 23rd Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 Awards, published today.

With an average sales growth of 73% over three years and growing to £44 million last year, Grenade is dominating the market and that’s exactly why they have been placed at number 39 in the league table.

Grenade is taking the snacking world by storm. Rocketing from sports nutrition brand to mainstream giant, and renowned for its Carb Killa range of low sugar, high protein snacks and is now the UK’s number one chocolate bar.

Commenting on the recent win, Alan Barratt, CEO and co-founder, said: “To be recognised for the sixth year running as one of the fastest growing companies in the UK is something for us to shout about!

“We launched the first Grenade product nearly 10 years ago and we have worked hard to get to where we are today. We want to challenge the stereotypes of nutrition products in the fitness industry and just last week we launched our newest recruit to our family – Grenade Energy – a zero calorie, functional energy drink which has been a huge hit with our brand loyalists at our launch event. Our success is not only down to having the best of the best products, but a hardworking, dedicated and passionate team at Grenade.”

Last year alone, Grenade grew by a staggering 112% within the convenience channel and drove more actual category growth than all other brands put together. Grenade continues to spearhead a new way of thinking when it comes to a healthy selection of flavour-packed treats, all designed to challenge consumers’ perceptions of what wholesome foods actually taste like.

Grenade continues to investment in the mainstream confectionery aisles by expanding its product range with the inclusion of healthy shakes, spreads and biscuits – all featuring indulgent flavours like Birthday Cake, Dark Chocolate Raspberry and White Chocolate Salted Peanut as well as the new Grenade Energy.

Barrat continues: “Next year is going to be our best yet. The aim is to exceed this growth and continue to dominate in the confectionery market, supported by aggressive marketing, exciting new product development and continued investment in the team. Watch this space!”

The annual Fast Track 100 conference & awards dinner will be held on Wednesday 20 May 2019. It celebrates the best of British entrepreneurship, bringing together the founders and directors of the UK’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales.
