GripHero, the maker of the world’s only static-safe hand-protection and on-the-nozzle dispensers for fuel pumps and fuel bays, has announced that it is offering its dispensers free to forecourts across the globe. The announcement comes as more transmissible variants of Covid-19 have emerged, highlighting the need for the public to be protected from the transmission of coronavirus at high-touch point locations where the virus can survive and be passed on to others.
By not charging for its dispensers over the next month, GripHero hopes to help forecourt owners and networks put an end to the potential transmission of Covid at the fuel pump, whilst at the same time protecting customers from chemical and biological contamination, fuel contamination and the transmission of other illnesses and disease that can be contracted from the handles of fuel pumps.
Oli Yeo, Founder, inventor and managing director of GripHero, said: “Health and emergency services around the world are contending with new mutations and strains of Covid. Stopping the spread of the virus is now a number one priority if we are to prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed by Covid-19 cases.
“Having created the only hand-protection dispenser solution that is permitted in the refuelling zone internationally, due to our use of anti-static materials, we believe we have a duty to play our part in enabling all forecourts and drivers to benefit from ‘contactless’ refuelling.
“By giving forecourts free hand-protection dispensers for fuel pump handles and fuel bays we aim to be part of the preventative solution to a very real problem, enabling drivers to withdraw hand-protection at the point of fuelling without coming into contact with a surface that could otherwise have been touched by hundreds of other drivers, many of whom could be asymptomatic.”
Oli Yeo added: “Prevention, in our view, is undoubtedly the best form of defence and should, we believe, form part of all forecourts’ ongoing approach to hygiene and customer-protection.”
The offer of free dispensers is available to all fuel stations internationally until 19th February 2021, enabling forecourts owners to not only protect their customers, but reduce their carbon footprint by up to 94% compared to standard gloves.
Less than a year ago GripHero made its dispensers free at the start of the pandemic for a limited period. On that occasion thousands of forecourts took up the offer on five continents. Given that new strains of Covid have become more transmissible, GripHero hopes that its latest limited-time offer will result in many thousands more forecourts taking immediate action to protect their customers, cutting their carbon footprints significantly in the process.
GripHero is the only hand-protection system permitted within the fuelling zone internationally as it uses ATEX certified anti-static materials which block static-energy discharges and sparks between driver and fuel equipment, removing all chance of fuel vapour ignition at the pump.
