IGD, the food and consumer goods research charity, has today unveiled the finalists of its 24th annual Industry Awards.

The Awards recognise the best that companies across the supply chain, both big and small, have to offer.

The 2013 Awards celebrate achievements across 11 areas including manufacturing, logistics, retail, human resources, small businesses, and much more. It is also the inaugural year for the:

  •
  • Digital Innovation Award – for the company that best uses digital technology in the most innovative and creative ways to engage with shoppers
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – for an individual who has made their mark on the industry

The finalists and winners are picked by some of the industry’s top personnel, including representatives from IGD, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Marks and Spencer (see below for a full list of finalists and sponsors). Winners will be honoured at the Awards ceremony on 8 October, which will be hosted by television and radio presenter, Gabby Logan.

Last year’s winners include MacSweens of Edinburgh, the Co-operative Group, Mondelēz International and Nestlé UK & Ireland, among others.

Joanne Denney-Finch, IGD chief executive, said: “I am delighted to announce such a strong shortlist for the 2013 IGD Awards.

“The food and consumer goods industry is one of our shining stars: as Britain’s biggest private sector employer, it accounts for one in seven jobs.

“Our Awards celebrate achievement and innovation across the food supply chain and is an excellent opportunity to shine the spotlight on people and businesses that make a difference to the public.

“I look forward to announcing the winners at our Awards ceremony on 8 October.”
