PXtech, a supplier of IT solutions to the hospitality, retail and education sectors, has won an award for International Trade in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The award, in recognition of PXtech’s overseas business success, caps a year of strong growth for the Derby-based IT firm, including a global deal with the world’s largest restaurant chain, Subway; plus significant client wins across North America and Europe.
PXtech claims its tools allow remote monitoring of live sales data, financial controls and other key business indicators, enabling clients easy access to their information from any internet location, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
The company has expanded rapidly into new markets across North America and Europe. Its export sales have increased over the last five years and overseas earnings growth stands at 1,633%.
PXtech managing director, Richard Dorf, said: “We are truly honoured to have won such a prestigious accolade and to be recognised by the Queen’s Award in this Diamond Jubilee year makes it even more special.
“As a company we have achieved strong growth by actively engaging and investing in foreign markets, a strategy which has helped PXtech to become a truly global operator. We now work with household names all over the world, serving over 25,000 business locations in more than 50 countries – figures which are continuing to rise at a rapid rate.
“Effective partnerships with international businesses including Dell and Par have also enabled us to consolidate sales and extend our reach.
“Our success demonstrates, despite the global downturn of recent years, there are significant opportunities to be seized and the economic challenges are just that – challenges, but not insurmountable. The UK should be proud of its heritage as a leader in technological innovation.”
The Queen’s Award is the second accolade won by PXtech in recent months. The company won Exporter of the Year at the Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce BEST in Business awards in October 2011.
