Thomas Sabo, the global premium jeweller and lifestyle brand has exchanged on a deal to secure a 1000sq ft. store, over a 10-year period at intu Watford. As the UK’s leading owner and manager of prime regional centre, intu is committed to offering the optimum tenant mix and Thomas Sabo is the first of many new brands joining intu Watford’s shopping centre offer.
Jon Crossick, UK & Ireland managing director of Thomas Sabo, said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to open a standalone store in intu Watford and have worked closely with intu who have helped us to realise the right unit for our creative display requirements. We aim to open this summer and have every confidence in the future success of our brand within intu Watford.”
Thomas Sabo will be situated on the lower mall, close to John Lewis, Office, Phase Eight and Karen Millen. It is a key letting which forms part of intu’s plans to further enhance the centre’s appeal to its affluent catchment population of 1.3m people, of which 71% fall within the ABC1 socio-economic categories.

intu Watford is set to undergo a major transformation. A £100m investment by intu will integrate intu Watford and Charter Place, acquired by intu in April 2013, to create a single, vibrant 1.4 million sq ft retail, dining and leisure destination. The development will provide new retail space, a new Cineworld imax cinema and leisure complex, along with a vibrant new restaurant hub. A new public square will also be created in order to host an exciting events programme, such as street theatre and music shows.
In addition, new larger units will be provided to secure exciting brands to Watford and to further enhance the shopping experience at intu Watford. The overall proposal also includes the refurbishment of the existing intu Watford centre, which currently has an annual footfall of 17m.
