Joules partners with Reskinned in clothing takeback and resale scheme

Joules, the premium British lifestyle brand, is pleased to announce the launch of its new partnership with clothing platform Reskinned, in a takeback and resale programme named ‘Joules ReWear’.

The partnership will enable Joules customers to return any pre-loved Joules clothing, footwear or accessories, in any condition, to be rehomed or otherwise responsibly recycled, helping them better support and ‘invest in our planet’ in line with the objectives of this year’s Earth Day (22nd April 2022).

Reskinned will power the takeback technology behind the Joules website, for customers to return their clothes and collect a voucher to receive money off their next purchase with Joules. Returned items will then be re-sold ‘good as new’, or otherwise repurposed or exported. The Joules ReWear re-sale platform is due to launch later this year, allowing shoppers to purchase those pre-loved items ready for a new home.

The partnership bolsters Joules’ commitment to operating responsibly and sustainably, and the Group’s continued focus on delivering in line with its Responsibly Joules objectives which benefit the environment, its employees and wider communities.

Ruby Fowler, corporate social responsibility manager at Joules, commented: “We recognise the huge importance of doing what we can to reduce waste and improve the circularity of our industry, and Reskinned’s efforts align closely with our own strategy and our wider Responsibly Joules framework. This sits at the heart of everything we do, and will continue to be critical as we work hard to deliver value for all our different stakeholders into the future. We can’t wait to see the success that we hope this partnership brings.”

Nick Jones, chief executive officer at Joules, added: “As a business we are wholeheartedly committed to minimising our impact on the environment and supporting positive change within our communities. Our products have always been high quality, making them perfect for hand-me-downs, but through this partnership we are delighted that we will now be able to offer our customers another, sustainable way to trade the items that they’ve loved for a long time.”

Matt Hanrahan, chief executive officer at Reskinned, commented: “At Reskinned we make it easy for brands and their customers to maximise the reuse potential of the many garments already out there. If we can’t reuse them, we’ll recycle them responsibly. It’s great to be working with Joules who clearly share our commitment to creating a more sustainable and circular clothing future.”
